Hawken is a first-person mech combat game created by the indie studio, Adhesive Games. It breaks the mold of older mech games by mixing the atmosphere and combat style of modern first-person shooter (fps) games with the feeling of a mech combat simulator. What really makes the game stand out is the fact that the game was developed in a little more than a year by a team of nine people. If that doesn't seem impressive enough, check out this video showcasing a prototype of what they have done. Keep in mind that what you see does not reflect the final version of the game.
Quite an impressive game considering the workforce behind it. To top it off the game will cost absolutely nothing when its released in December 2012. The only downside is that the game is exclusively for PC. For anyone that wants to play the game earlier, there are sign-ups for the open beta on their website here.
